I am making a queen sized bed quilt for my nephew and his girlfriend/partner. They selected the pattern, a strip-pieced blue, with lighter colors in the middle. I have a good portion of the top done. Thought I would post some photos of the process.
First, cut lots of strips! All kinds of blue, piled in the back. Then start sewing them together so that I can cut a square block from each group of strips, on the diagonal.
Arrange on design wall so that lighter blocks are in the center. This will eventually have a medium dark border with some additional strip pieces along the sides. Here’s how it’s looking about now. Lots of cutting, sewing, and arranging to go yet!
Love it!

Wow! What a project! You are making it as artful as possible, though!
